Friendships

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.’ Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

During the Lenten season I want to take time to appreciate the life that God has given me. And part of that is the friendship of some awesome Christian sisters.

I had a beautiful time tonight spending time with several of them over some food at a local diner, enjoying each-other’s company and discussing our new Women’s Bible study that will be happening soon.

This all kinds of weird for me. I tend to be a loner. Even at work, as much as I love my friends there-and I really do-I still tend to work in my office with the door closed.

I know with all that I am that God has put this desire in my heart to be around these awesome ladies. We love God, we love learning about His Word and we can be REAL with each-other. No pretenses that we don’t struggle with sin or that our lives are ‘peaches and cream.’ NO! If we are struggling we can know that, at minimum, we will be praying for each-other and we know what it means to keep things confidential. No gossiping with these ladies and it is such a pleasure to be free from that!

Whether your a Christian woman or a Christian man-it is vital to have these types of relationships where we can share and we can know that, if need be, we will be called out, in love, if we are acting opposite of what Jesus has called us to do.

I am eternally grateful for each and everyone of the ladies in my group. And I’m thankful for YOU.

In Jesus’ precious name.

Tara
