Dealing With Frustrations

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21).

Do you ever get frustrated with differnt situations in your life? Ok, that’s a silly question. Of course you have had situations that frustrate you. Life can be, well, IS frustrating. Whether it is situations within our families, friendships or work we associate with other people all the time. We all have our little quirks and we may have no issue with the quirks of one person but get frustrated with someone else’s.

Our relationships with people can sometimes cause difficult circumstances. It is all too easy during these times to look at those involved and lay all our focus on them. Instead, let us keep our eyes on God. No matter how bleak a situation may or may not seem our God is always BIGGER. He is our ‘But God’. There are scripture after scripture that tells us that God is always working on our behalf. Scripture like John 16:33 that lets us know that in the end Jesus has overcome the world and He will overcome our difficult situations too!

John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

I have learned, especially recently, to keep my eyes on God no matter what is going on in my life. It may take me a few minutes to take the situation-whatever it may be-and lay it at the foot of the cross. One of the main things that God has worked on me over the past few years is that-it’s not about me-it’s about Him. If we don’t stay humble, He’ll teach us to be. When we learn to be humble, to wait on His timing and for what He knows is best for us He will exalt us.

1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

God loves us. He knows what is best for us. We can, at times, make plan after plan without consulting what His will is in the situation. And knowing HIS will matters. God will guide us on the best path for us. When we do our will over His all manner of things can happen. Joshua 1:18 “Anyone who rebels against your command and does not obey your words in all that you command him, shall be put to death; only be strong and courageous.”

Work with me this week friends on intentionally going to God on our situations, on decisions that need to be made and all those frustrations. Not sure what to do? Ask Him; James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

God is good. ALL THE TIME!

Have a blessed Monday.

In Jesus’ precious name.
