Zephaniah 3:17

“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

This verse is one of my favorites. It stood out to me a few years ago when I was preparing to speak in front of my church. And it’s really standing out to me now. The words of the scripture reminds me of how much God truly loves me. The words used in English often do not do the scripture justice. That’s why I enjoy using a concordance with scripture at times. It opens up what the meaning really was for a word that in English could have several meanings.

The Lord your God is in your midst…He is among us, with us, and in us. And it is what He chooses to do.

The Might One will save. He will save us, avenge us, defend us, preserve us and deliver us. And, oh boy, have I need that lately! More from my own mind than anything else. My mind that likes to forget just how big my God is.

He will rejoice over you with gladness. He feels JOY over you and me. JOY! And He does it with gladness. And not just a ho-hum feeling of gladness an exceeding amount of gladness and joy.

He will quiet you with His love…I love the sound of this. It makes me think of just resting in His arms like an infant in it’s mother’s arms. Safe and secure, feeling purely loved.

He will rejoice over you with singing…absolutely my favorite part when I looked at the concordance. The only way I can explain it-being so overjoyed that your singing and spinning in a circle not caring who in the world is watching you.

And He’s doing ALL that because of you and me. How AWESOME is our God?!

Pretty darn!

Have an awesome day my friends. God bless.

In Jesus’ precious name.
